George Sfakianakis is Associate Professor of Economic Analysis at the General Department of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He has served as Chair of the Business Administration Department at the Technological Educational Institute of Central Greece and as a member of the institution's Senate. He also teaches at the Hellenic Open University and has previously taught at the Athens University of Economics and Business and in postgraduate programs at Panteion University. He completed his undergraduate studies at the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB), where he continued his postgraduate studies and completed his doctoral thesis on endogenous economic growth. In the past, he has worked at the Council of Economic Experts of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (where he also served as Chairman), the Directorate of Macroeconomic Analysis and Forecasting of the General Directorate of Economic Policy of the Ministry of Finance, the Center for Planning and Economic Research (KEPE), the Economic Research Center of the Athens University of Economics and Business (K.O.E. / O.P.A.), the Institute for Economic Policy Studies, as well as in the private sector. He has also served as a member of the Board of Directors of D.E.H. S.A., Hellenic Public Power Corporation (H.P.P.C.), the Public Debt Management Agency (P.D.M.A.), and the Foundation for Economic and Industrial Research (F.E.I.R.). His current research interests include Applied Macroeconomics, International Economic Relations, Growth Theory, Money and Capital Markets, Economic Crises, Income Distribution, the Economics of Education, Human Capital, and the Economics of Tourism. He has participated in research projects on these topics and has published work in peer-reviewed international journals, as well as presenting at international conferences. He is also a reviewer for international journals and a member of the scientific committee of conferences on economics and business administration.
