Dr. George I. Koutromanos is an Associate Professor in the Section of Mathematics and Informatics at the Department of Pedagogy and Primary Education of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), specializing in “Information and Communication Technologies in Education.” Since September 2021, he has been the Director of the Informatics Laboratory of his Department, and as of April 2024, he serves as the Director of the Master’s Programme “Mathematics Education and Information and Communication Technologies in Education.” Additionally, he is the Director of the Joint Interinstitutional Master’s Programme between his Department at NKUA and the University of the Aegean, titled “Educational Design of Online Learning”. His publications focus on various aspects of ICT in education, while his recent research explores the potential and integration of emerging technologies in educational contexts. Specifically, his research examines the role of aerial robotics (drones) in STEM education, as well as the use of Extended Reality (Virtual, Augmented, and Mixed Reality) in teaching and learning.
